The daughter of a group that included sports enthusiasts, Tafts enthusiasm for sports in the world started at a young age. As she played different sports in high school and in university, Taft determined to make a go of it as reporter. Taft was a graduate of Boston University in broadcast journalism and a concentration in sports reporting and regional affiliation she began her broadcasting career at Fox Sports North. She also covered sports, was involved in social media, and was host for various occasions. Within a short time, Fox Sports 1 hired Taft to join the News and Highlights department. Taft was a reporter for FS1 that covered a variety of prestigious tournaments. She also worked concurrently as a sideline college football reporter, and was soon promoted to the position as the lead college football reporter along with Gus Johnson. At the time she was invited in 2018 to become the moderator and host of the show Skip and Shannon Undisputed the show grew to prominence. In the past she was the host of CFB Inside Slant in addition to as playing the role of pit reporter on the Discovery series Battlebots.
